My Life Being Renewed: July 2013

My Life Being Renewed..the story behind the name..

Great Quotes - IronyStory

Hi there! This blog post has actually been in draft since July 1 of 2012- I never posted it, but thought it would be fun to post today and see what has happened since then!!

I wanted to share with you why I decided to change my blog name to "My Life Being Renewed, One Step at a time." Most of you don't know that almost 3 years ago, our lives were forever changed. My husband worked at his Father's Engineering Firm for 13 years while I worked at the Hospital as a Medical Center Representative- we had a great life, financially set, a newly remodeled home and traveled the world.

Then everything changed- My husband's Father was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away within 4 months. The business was shut down and my husband was left without a job. We made the decision to sell our home and relocate in order to be closer to family and to find better job opportunities.

So now that catches us up to date- we now have put our house up for sale sold our house, have new jobs in our new town that we adore and live at my brother's pool house temporarily while we are getting ready to build our first home together! One step at a time, we are working on getting our lives back in order, this time we want to make it even better {with GOD, of course}! Hopefully, that explains the new blog name- I will be sharing with you daily and weekly what I am doing to renew my life. I hope that you enjoy my blog and share what is going on in your life as well!

Kaeng Raeng all natural detox program

July 30, 2013

Remember in my last blog post, how I blogged about eating more raw veggies & fruits and less meats, pasta? Well, it hasn't been easy, but I have been doing really well this week- I have been eating lots of raw veggies, smoothies, green tea and fruits and I do feel much better already!

One thing that I have been enjoying lately is smoothies. Recently, Danielle, a rep from Kaeng Raeng sent me an all natural detox program to try. I was excited because lately life has been so crazy for me, having a handicapped dog and also trying to build a new home and I could use something easy and healthy!! Plus, the nutritional values are not too shabby either!

One serving of Kaeng Raeng makes 24-32 fl oz and contains: (drink 3 per day)

Fewer than 240 calories!
-1 oz of raw, freeze-dried fruit powder -- that's the equivalent of 8 oz of fresh fruit per serving! No preservatives, no chemicals, just fruit, straight from the ground, freeze dried for convenience.
-19 grams of lean non-genetically modified soy protein and daily vitamins including B-12
-2 billion CFUs of vegan L. Acidophilus probiotics to bolster your immune system and improve digestion
-Full serving of vegetable fiber (safe for daily use)
-No artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners
-No caffeine, laxatives, or stimulants
-No animal products or peanuts
-No preservatives or fillers

Just mix a detox packet with almond milk (or you can use water), shake and go!!

I made this smoothie with a packet of Kaeng Raeng, handful of spinach leaves, 1 apple and almond milk and it was so delicious! Even my husband enjoyed it and he is very picky, especially about eating healthy foods.

One thing that I have noticed with the cleanse is that my skin and eyes look clearer and I haven't seen a loss in weight, but my body seems to be toning and I have so much more energy now! Before, I was so exhausted all of the time- I love that I can take these packets to work and mix them with my water or almond milk and I have a healthy meal! You can find out more about Kaeng Raeng detox program here.

What do you do to get back on the healthy bandwagon?

A lazy Saturday...

July 28, 2013

Saturday, we needed a break after a long work week along with other stress so we decided to go back to brunch at Liams. I absolutely adore this place, very European style food.

I just realized how many coffee drink pictures are in this blog post- I think I may need a caffeine intervention...

We also went to Marshalls, TJ Maxx and World Market. We had such a fun day and it was nice to get away and just relax.

It is now Sunday and the hubby has been working on perfecting the house plan details so that we can bid it out- I really want to find someone who can do it all. I know that it will cost more, but it is so much more less stressful!! I am so looking forward to see some ground breaking, hopefully it will be soon...

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!!

Just thought it would be fun to do a lookback on some photos. In the first photo- I was doing an 85% raw vegan diet and didn't really need to wear makeup because my skin was so clear and glowing.I am kind of thinking about going back towards a more raw vegan diet again- I felt so much cleaner and happier then! Plus my MIL just loaded me down with tons of watermelon, spinach, kale, bananas, grapes, etc. Lately, I have felt so weighed down with too much pasta and meat and don't feel my best. So please wish me luck on my healthier eating plan!!

What eating plan makes you feel at your best?

A more Positive Outllook!!

July 16, 2013

Happy Tuesday ya'll!! Just thought I would do a quick post on my lunch break to give you an update on everything. Things are the same with Roscoe but after crying and being sad all day on Monday, I decided that I need to have a more upbeat and positive outlook on things, I am not giving up hope!! I have seen prayer work too many times to be doubtful!

Today, we are going by Lowes to buy some supplies to build a wall around our bed so that Roscoe can sleep there in the daytime and that way we won't have to worry about him rolling off the bed- he hates staying in the bathroom and that is actually an understatement. I am thinking we may do a built in water bowl too since he can't walk. This morning I noticed how peaceful and happy he was sleeping on the bed and that is how we came to the decision- we are doing everything in our power to make everything as comfortable as we can for Roscoe.

Other than that, the hubby is finishing up the electrical plan for the new house- so we should be able to have the meter base installed this week or at least have an appointment set up and then we can have the well installed next. And then hopefully we can get started on the foundation, which is what I am most excited about!

I have to cut this short because I am on lunch, but I will have a longer post next time. Hope you are all having a fabulous week!!

Keeping it Light!

July 13, 2013

{If you click on the picture, you can see my highlights better}

Hi guys and gals! Today I am keeping it light. I want to talk about hair- I finally broke down and got highlights, but I asked the stylist to keep it basically my natural color but add minimal highlights- I think they turned out great! But I'm trying to figure out does my hair look better curly or straight? I know which one I like better, but what do you all think?
