Enjoyable Weekend//

July 20, 2015

I had such a nice weekend, mainly because after researching for over a month, the hubby and I finally decided on a trip! We will be traveling to the Turks & Caicos, San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, St. Marteen (we visited there last when we were dating!). We will be celebrating my husband's birthday + our 16th Wedding Anniversary + our home being completed- lots of great milestones to celebrate together! Let's be honest, I am so excited that I have already started researching places to visit & I have already started setting a few things aside to pack! (Surprising, since we still have a month until we leave).

Other than that, we were able to get a few things done this weekend- the siding is officially finished! Now we just need to do the prep work and spray paint the house- thank goodness for the Wagner, because I cannot imagine painting two stories worth of siding- no thank you! I also did the usual house-cleaning, and I finally broke down and washed the couch slip-cover- definitely hard work, but I'm so glad it's done now. Also cleaned out the fridge & did some Food shopping. The hubby is going to be supportive and do the gluten-free diet with me, so we went out & bought everything for the week- I'm excited to see how he likes it!

I also finally decided on a logo for my Etsy Shop and even set aside time to do a book review + request another new book. I really have enjoyed reading lately- it's something that I have to carve out time for, but to me it's worth it because continued learning + growth is extremely important to me//

 Organized the coffee station//

Finished reading this week- great book!

 Costco- lots of new healthy, organic items!

 Free earned coffee drink- Espresso Frappucino made with coconut milk + 2 shots espresso

Tried out the new Grub Burger- gluten free burger + sweet potato fries- it was pretty good!

Purchased some cute Summer Shoes this month- all on sale!

I also had some fun this weekend breaking my camera out to practice some photography- I love where we live - it's like we have our own little forest:) Home is my peaceful place to relax and I love to be surrounded by the quiet and the beauty of nature//

I'm also hoping to surprise the hubby with a little get-away this weekend- just for the day and just the two of us. I'm very excited because we really could use a little break.

That's about it for now- hope that you all had a nice weekend as well!!

Progress//

June 21, 2015

It's been a week since I've blogged and honestly, I have just been really exhausted by the time that I get home. Weekends are my time to get some rest and usually get a few things done. Friday, we took a break and went to Tallahassee for food shopping at Trader Joe's and we picked up Smoothies at Tropical Smoothie for their Summer Promo- it felt so good to be out and about and not worrying about working. Saturday, we did some painting and on Sunday, I washed our vehicle,did some dishes and we ended up driving to town and purchasing a grill (finally!!). We got such a great deal on it- it was definitely a God thing! I'm not sure who is more excited for the grill- me or the hubby! I am excited to have less dishes to wash & less cooking. Plus, what man doesn't like to grill?!

I found these beach-style pillows at Target for 30% off a few weeks ago

My husband also hung our front door light back up and also put in our doorbell. I plan on helping the hubby with some more trim painting, deck stain, hanging a couple of pictures and mowing the grass this afternoon. We are trying to get a few things done, so that we can head to the beach for a day or two this weekend- we really need a break from everything to just relax and have fun. I also want to do some shopping for Home decor- we still need an office chair, coffee table, art work, etc. For me, making decisions is a slow process- I have to really love something before I purchase it.

For my Office area

Photo Collage that I made for our bedroom (hubby is going to hang it up for me)

Next Tuesday, we are driving to Atlanta for my husband to take his Final Exam- I am going with him because I don't like being away from my husband nor do I like being in a house alone at night. Hopefully, we can at least have dinner together one night and I plan on bringing some books to catch up on some reading at the hotel while my husband is in class.

That's it for now- I'm going to enjoy the rest of my Sunday and I hope that you do as well! :)

House Preview//

May 1, 2015

Hi lovelies, I'm a little embarrassed that it has been a month since I last blogged, but I have been busy living life and trying to get things done. Today will be mostly a visual/photo heavy post, but tomorrow I plan on posting about 2015 goals that I have been able to accomplish so far. Until then, enjoy the picture show.

To do: window trim & install wall speakers

I bought this to put in the bathroom- isn't it gorgeous?!

 To do: hang crab picture

This is where I spend most of my weekends with a good book + a cappuccino

I hope that you enjoyed the mini- tour, we still have a long to do list, but it's been fun seeing it all come together! This weekend we will be working on exterior siding, trim and going through more things in the garage- I am hoping to have a garage sale soon + donate more things. See you later this weekend; I will be back with a post all about 2015 goals + accomplishments!

To-Do List//

August 28, 2014

Life has been good, but crazy lately! We did finally get the Certificate of Occupancy to move into our new home, but my husband had to go behind some of the contractors to fix some things that they should have done so that took extra time. Thank goodness that he knows how to do all of that!

I feel like everyday we are running around working so hard- trying to check things off the to do list. It will be nice when we can have a normal life where things aren't so hectic! Our goal is to finish everything, including decorating by the end of October, then we can relax and enjoy the Fall..

Completed:
//Deck, stairs & Railing finished
//Washer & Dryer installed (so happy to finally be able to do laundry!)
//Bathroom & Laundry Tile finished
//Yesterday we almost finished moving my husbands tools out of storage- we will finish moving everything this afternoon
//Closet shelving is partially installed- we still need more shelving, but thank goodness that I can hang some clothes instead of living out of boxes + suitcases.

(the closet is currently full + we still have more)

Currently Working on:
//Install exterior Hardi-board siding, trim + Paint
//Paint exterior Rafters
//Install wood floors
//Paint interior doors

Future To-do list:
//Install Shower Wall Tile & Shower Rod
//Install more closet shelving
//Install Pantry shelving
//Unpack- move upstairs
//Buy furniture for house- dining room table, living room furniture, bed frame, dresser, vanity, etc.
//Install interior ceiling trim, door & window trim
//Build house for well
//Concrete poured for Garage Drive/Parking
//Driveway Gravel
//Landscaping
//Privacy/Security Front Gate
//Go through everything- sell, donate & throw away

We have lots of things planned to get done this weekend and Monday we have off for Labor Day- hopefully we will get enough done, that we can take a day off to relax.

Hope you enjoy your Labor Day!!
