Pool Day!

May 27, 2012

First full day back home!!

May 26, 2012

I had so much fun yesterday being back home. We had an organic brunch -coffee, turkey bacon, eggs and english muffins. It was amazing being able to relax, check emails, enjoy coffee- it's the small things-seriously.

 Later, I went and visited my sister, who had me a whole case of kcups that she found for an amazing price-so sweet of her! Went swimming at the pool with the hubby and my nephew for about 2 hours- we played marco polo, frisbee- it was just what I needed! I also managed to squeeze in some time to go walking. For dinner the hubby grilled chicken and we had a grilled chicken salad. The best part of the day was getting my two packages of kale chips- yay! I also ordered a salicylic peel kit {I've been in the sun lately & need a peel}, which I am super excited to try out! Here are some pictures since I've been home.

Venti Soy whip double espresso Coffee Frappucino- my favorite!

Larabars sent me their new bars to try out- they are amazing!!

Reggie picked me up a {pink} float for the pool- so excited to lay out at the pool!!

 veggies from our garden- how exciting!!

Reggie just left to go to the market to get some things to grill for Memorial Day- we are going to grill out and go swimming- so excited!

Brain Overload!!!

May 24, 2012

Wow, the month of May just flew by! We just drove in yesterday evening and it felt amazing to be home finally! I feel like my brain is in overdrive right now, I am still trying to process lots of things that have happened this past month. First of all, I want to catch you up on my job situation..remember last month, how I was talking about how this job was pretty much taking over my whole personal life- no time for blogging, checking emails, family, etc. Well, I talked to my brother {who is my boss} about how I was unhappy on the road all of the time and not having a personal life{plus having to deal with Roscoe on the road is tough!} and he is working on something right now to where the hubby and I could possibly work in the office, as in a regular 8-5 job! It would mean that we would be temporarily moving back into the house we just moved out of..we are hoping to just stage the house and show it in our off time- we might as well use the house, right now it is just sitting there. But I don't want to get too ahead of myself, I am not sure of what the outcome is going to be yet. Hopefully, it will work out, but if not, we have already decided to start looking elsewhere to have a normal 8-5 job, I refuse to give up my life for any job, no matter how much they pay me. I just feel better now that I spoke up and got everything off of my chest and can move on with the future. Sooo, enough about work, I am so excited to be home, I have so many plans!!

Here is what I have planned for today:

Visit my sister for about 1.5 hours {have some tea & go walking}.

Go swimming/tan by the pool & read my trashy magazines

Exercise {walking/running & weights}

Update resumes

And last but not least, I wanted to leave you with some pictures from our work trip..enjoy!!

Starbucks + shopping at Target- winning!!

Okay, that's it for now- I'm off to enjoy my day!!

Trying to obtain a healthy Work/Life Balance..

April 28, 2012

Hi ya'll! It's been a long time since I have been able to blog- my job right now is crazy & I find that I have no time for a personal life. I'm trying to stick with it to see where it goes or if things get better, if not, I am going to have to find something that doesn't suck my whole life away from me! When we got back from our work trip this time, we only had 8 days off before going back to work and 2 of those days we have to go to meetings and then I had my ICC test on one day {which I passed btw!}. Even my sister was upset that I had hardly any days off, plus I have to use almost 1 day just to pack for our next work trip. I haven't had any time to see my family or plan a weekend trip/vacay. For now it's paying the bills and giving us work experience, new relationships, so I am trying to look at the positives.

In between working, I've been reading tons of motivational/success books, enjoying much needed coffees at Starbucks and some great places to eat in Texas {Chipotle, Taco Cabana, Taco Bueno, FreeBird, Orange Leaf Yogurt, Jason's Deli}! I do have to say that I really love Texas, although we haven't gotten much time to really visit and do fun things like I would like. If we do move later {once our house sells}, Texas will definitely be on my list of places.

We went and got froyo to celebrate me passing my ICC Test- Yay!

One downside to travelling for work is that I have no time left for exercise, this is something that I am not willing to compromise, so if the job stays at the pace that we are currently at, then it will be a dealbreaker for me. I failed at my April goal of eating more raw/healthy foods and exercising- but I am going to really work on it this month. I can always grab a salad or a green smoothie & fruit at the store- so I have no excuse.

I will say that whether the job works out or not that I've learned alot from it

I've become more open & people friendly/outgoing.

I finally was able to let go & let my sister watch my dog,Roscoe for me {I am a positive person, but I always think of the worst scenarios that could happen to him while I am gone- I am working on just praying over him and letting it go}

I learned that after working a 10-15 hour per day job that a regular 8-5 job is a piece of cake!!

I've learned that I do not want to take on too much work like I used to.

I've learned to appreciate the small things like coming back to a home after 5:00, having a cup of tea with family & friends, being able to go running, being able to get more sleep, having my weekends, having time to check my emails, watching my tv shows & most of all being able to have access to all of my cute clothes, shoes & accessories! I am going to bring some cute outfits with me on the road so that I can enjoy them more- we stay at a different hotel every night so I will have to bring things in and out but for me it's worth the trouble.

For the month of May, we have decided to let Roscoe stay home with my sister, so that the hubby and I can have a break to go out to dinner & have some time alone. When we take Roscoe, we have to bring him everywhere with us, to the patio at Starbucks, eating outside at Freebirds, etc. We can't go out to dinner, because we don't want to leave him at the hotel- and we definitely can't leave him in the car or take him inside the restaurant. It's alot of extra work, ordering his chicken, taking him walking, bathing him- all on top of trying to work long days- that's another reason that I'm not sure how this is all going to work out. We are on the road working for 20 or more days & I can't leave him home with my sister all of the time- right now, we are going to try to leave him 1 month with my sister then take him with us for 1 month and see how that works.

I apologize for this whole blog post being about work- but I just needed to get some things off of my chest! I do feel better now and I look forward to where my life is going to lead- just doing lots of praying- "For I know the plans I have for you, plans for a hope and a future."

xoxo

April Goals

March 27, 2012

Hi again. I'm back- it's been crazy since I got home from work- I feel like my life was pretty much on hold in March. I'm glad to be back home- I have about 5-6 more days left to relax and I've been trying to take advantage of it by visiting family, shopping with my sister, bike riding, visiting Callaway Gardens, running every day, etc. I'm still getting adjusted to life on the road- I have to make more time for checking emails, exercising and relaxing- hopefully April will be much better!

{hanging out with my nieces & nephews on Sunday}

I do have a few goals for April....

Work out daily- running, elliptical, weights, etc.
Eat healthier- more greens, h20 and raw foods.
Sell the house!! We did lower the price by $7,000 so hopefully that will help + I am praying alot!!
Go back to Callaway Gardens & go to the beach, bike riding & do the tree-top adventure with hubby.
Study for ICC Test.
Do online Certifications for SC, Maine & Montana.

Okay, enough blogging for now, I'm going to go and catch up on all of the shows I missed while on the road! Be back soon!
