My Life Being Renewed: God's Plan for My Life

God's Plan for My Life

April 4, 2016

I listened to two sermons over the weekend by Rick Warren; about getting our ship out of the harbor. He talked about dreams that we have in life and how we need to surrender our dreams to God in order for them to become successful. To completely give our dreams up to God. I feel like this sermon was exactly what I needed to hear this week.

He talked about those who try to sail through life on their own power and how we need to lean on God to get our ships out of the harbor. We can't do it on our own power. He talked about not making excuses or blaming others if you're not successful in life and how you need to have faith to go along with the dream that God has given you.

These sermons really resonated with me because I really work hard on my business and writing my books and have so many dreams in life. Instead of trying to do everything on my own, I have been working on leaning on God more to help me get my ship out of the harbor.

Things in my business have been going amazing. I love the clients that I work with- they are all amazing women who are extremely successful. But I want more out of life; I want God to abundantly bless my life so that I can be a blessing to others. I want to follow the purpose and plan that God has for my life. I'm going to keep praying and keep working and waiting. I'm giving my life over to God, completely. I want His plans for my life, not mine! I'm excited to see how God's plan for my life will unfold!

What are some things that you need to put in God's hands?

  1. In February I launched a blog & mastermind for busy-bee Christian business women who need to stay grounded in their faith; last week I just relaunched my design studio, cutting out graphic design and just focusing on branding and wedding invitations. Let me just tell you..... I'm TERRIFIED!!! I fear I've made the wrong decisions with my business! I fear I've taken on too much! I definitely need to hand this over to God and trust in his perfect plan!

    1. Hi Lauren, it sounds like you have so amazing things going on in your business. I know how it feels to be overwhelmed; especially running a business. I will be happy to pray for you :) xo, Melinda

  2. Thank you so much for sharing these words. It is so easy to get swooped up in all the mess that we create, thinking we are our only savior, wondering why life seems so unmanageable. I listen to Joyce Meyer radio podcasts for 2 mornings in the beginning of my week as I get ready for the day. This last couple weeks, she has really pushed the message of: wake up, trust God, and do good. It is really hard to have doubts or bad days when you can successfully do that.

  3. I definitely struggle with feeling inadequate as a business owner. But I know without a doubt that if I'm pursuing God's plan for my life and using my business as a tool to honor Him, that he will bless that in more ways that I can imagine. Thank you for writing this, Melinda! Love your heart!

  4. This is exactly where I am too. We're so foolish to try and take things into our own hands when our creator knows so much better.
